A Heritage of Faith

The history of Saint Paul Baptist Church dates to the late nineteenth century. Although no official records identify the exact year of its organization, deeds dating to 1898 confirm the church’s early existence. Through generations, its story was faithfully preserved by word of mouth, reflecting the perseverance and unwavering faith of believers who remained committed to Christ despite limited educational opportunities and significant social challenges.

Throughout its long history, Saint Paul worshiped in several locations and was led by many faithful pastors, including the Rev. Bell, Rev. Bivian, Rev. H. Smith, Rev. A. Lowe Jr., Rev. Wheeler, Rev. Cunningham, Rev. Calloway, Rev. McGuire, Rev. Gullet, Rev. Huntly, Rev. Traylor, Rev. Tamplin, Rev. J. Gresham, Rev. R. K. Pledger, Rev. L. C. Freeman, Rev. Bill J. Gilbert, Rev. Gary L. Earls, Rev. David Morris, and many others whose devoted service helped preserve the ministry through the generations.

A Place to Worship and Grow

After relocating from an earlier property, the congregation established its longtime home on Nelms Drive in 1948. Under the leadership of the Rev. J. Gresham, the church began constructing a new sanctuary in 1974, creating a place of worship that faithfully served the congregation and community for decades.

In October 2000, the Reverend Dr. Eddie C. Mosley was called as Pastor after serving as Interim Pastor and was officially installed on January 21, 2001. During his pastorate, Saint Paul experienced significant spiritual and organizational growth, including receiving its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and many other blessings that strengthened the ministry.

A New Generation of Leadership

Recognizing God’s continued calling upon the next generation, Dr. Mosley appointed the Rev. Willie C. Mosley to serve as Executive Pastor in 2021. Following Dr. Mosley’s announcement of his retirement in 2022 and his call to continue serving God’s Kingdom beyond the local church, the Rev. Willie C. Mosley was officially installed as Senior Pastor of Saint Paul Baptist Church on June 18, 2022.

For many years, Pastor Willie C. Mosley carried a God-given vision for a ministry that would meet both the spiritual and practical needs of a growing congregation while extending the love of Jesus Christ beyond the walls of the church. Through prayer, patience, careful planning, and faithful obedience, that vision continued to unfold according to God’s perfect timing.

Redeeming Grace: A New Chapter

In 2025, after years of preparation, prayer, and seeking God’s direction, Pastor Mosley and the members of Saint Paul Baptist Church stepped out in faith to pursue a worship facility that would better accommodate the church’s expanding ministry and future growth. God faithfully opened the door and blessed the congregation with a beautiful new church home in Conyers, Georgia.

Believing that God was doing more than changing their address, the congregation embraced a renewed vision and a new identity. With grateful hearts and unwavering faith, Saint Paul Baptist Church entered a new season of ministry and became Redeeming Grace Christian Church.

The name Redeeming Grace reflects the very heart of the Gospel. It proclaims God’s unmerited favor that redeems the lost, restores the broken, forgives the sinner, heals the wounded, and transforms lives through the saving power of Jesus Christ. It continually reminds us that no one is beyond the reach of God’s redeeming love and that His grace offers hope, restoration, and a new beginning to all who place their trust in Christ.

Honoring the Legacy, Embracing the Future

Today, Redeeming Grace Christian Church honors the rich legacy of Saint Paul Baptist Church while embracing the future God has prepared. Standing firmly upon the unchanging truth of God’s Word, the church is committed to preaching the uncompromised Gospel of Jesus Christ, developing faithful disciples, strengthening families, serving the community with compassion, and equipping believers to impact the world for God’s glory.

As Redeeming Grace moves forward, it remains steadfast in its mission to be a place where people encounter God’s redeeming grace, experience authentic worship, grow in biblical truth, build meaningful relationships, and discover their God-given purpose. With Christ as the foundation and the Holy Spirit as its guide, the church looks forward with great expectation to all God will continue to accomplish in the years ahead.
